Hier, j’ai trouvé le terrier du couple de renards de la presqu’île. La tanière est situé sur le monticule du calvaire des PME dans le cimetière à l’abri des regards et bien au sec. Ils ont quelques petits renardeaux mais tout était calme lorsqu’on m’a indiqué sa maison.
Yesterday I have found a couple of foxes in of the peninsula. The den is located on the berm of the calvary of the Society of Foreign Missions inside the cemetery out of sight and in a dry place above the ground level. They have some cubs but it was calm when I visited the place.
Lorsqu'il marche, le petit renard roux pose sa patte postérieure dans l'empreinte de l'antérieure ce qui donne une démarche très linéaire.
J'ai remarqué une petite surface aplanie au dessus d'une des entrées du terrier d'où le renard peut observer à l'abri des regards.
When walking, the little red fox raises its hind legs in the imprint of the earlier giving the movements a very linear style.
I have noticed a small flattened area above one of the entrances of the burrow where the fox can observe the surroundings out of sight.

Il chasse à vue et il se déplace rapidement et silencieusement. Lorsqu'il a repéré un petit rongeur, il s'immobile, se contracte et bondit sur sa proie telle un chat sur une souris. Une fois le petit rongeur attrapé, il joue avec tout comme un enfant joue avec son jouet.
Le renard vit dans des terriers creusés à même le sol et souvent empruntés à des blaireaux, la renarde y loge ses renardeaux. Il possède, comme son frère le loup, un territoire qu'il doit défendre. Toujours comme son frère, le renard définit les limites de son territoire avec les odeurs de ses excréments

When hunting at dawn, (the fox) moves in all directions, nose to the ground. It hunts at sight view and it moves quickly and silently. When it spots a small rodent, it stop to move and stay very still, contracts it’s legs muscles and jumps on its prey like a cat on a mouse. Once it catch the little rodent, it plays with it as a child plays with his toy.
The fox lives in burrows dug in the ground and often borrowed from badgers, the vixen and her cubs housing. He has, like his brother the wolf, a territory he must defend. Also like his brother, fox defines the limits of its territory with the smell of dung.
